Israe (15) was three and a half years old when she moved to Norway from Jordan. She lived in Namsos in Norway for nine years before the family was deported. “If I come back to Norway I will take off my hijab. I’ll do what I want – go out with my friends, and go with my sisters into town. There we can make what we want of our lives. Here there is nothing we can do. But it is not we who decide over our lives. Others do.” Irbid, Jordan. © Andrea Gjestvang
