Mads Nissen has won the First Prize in the ‘Portrait/Personality’ section of this year’s National Press Photographers’ Association (NPPA) Best of Photojournalism Awards for his image of Adriana Itzel Rangel Arrilaga, a pregnant South American migrant temporarily staying at a shelter in Ciudad Juarez near the U.S. border in the hope of entering the US and giving birth to her child there.
