Over the past decade Panos photographer Tim Smith has traveled back to his childhood home of Barbados, as well as many other Caribbean nations with close connections to Britain. His photographs from Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent, and Trinidad & Tobago can be seen at London’s Hackney Museum until 13th January 2018. They are displayed alongside a fascinating series of pictures taken by his father Derek Smith of everyday life on various islands during the 1950s and 60s.
