The Boko Haram conflict in the Lake Chad region has displaced over 1,3 million children, causing a complex humanitarian crisis. One in three people in this region don’t have access to safe drinking water. In Chad, diarrhoea is one of the leading causes of death among children. In order to change this reality, 100 young people are learning how to build 1,500 water filters that will benefit 11,000 people. Water filters eliminate 90% of the microbes and can cut the number of diarrhoea cases in half.
