Living in Danger
Up to 8,000 people have been killed or injured in Iraq by cluster munitions. One quarter of these casualties were children. Thousands of civilians worldwide continue to be affected. The 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions bans the use, production and stockpiling of the weapon globally. It requires clearance of contaminated areas and assistance to those affected. Iraq ratified the convention in May 2013. All countries should join the ban on cluster munitions for the protection of civilians worldwide. www.stopclustermunitions.org
